The Choker Trend!!

With the 90’s fashion revival on full swing, slip dresses, berry lips, braids etc. etc. Chokers are making a fierce comeback. A choker is a close-fitting necklace worn on the neck & made of a variety of materials, including velvet, beads, metal such as silver, gold or platinum, leather, basically anything that looks cool around the neck 😛

It’s delicate, it’s different, and it adds a little bit of an edgy (think “rock star”) vibe to even the simplest of looks. Chokers are making a lasting impression and show no signs of slowing down. Depending on your outfit (and mood) this necklace can either be a delicate add-on or an edgy statement piece.

While classic black string around the neck is the easiest to pick and the most spotted look. I just couldn’t get down to being that bold in the first go(though there are many like HeyClaire who rocks this look beautifully). So, I started my search for the perfect most versatile piece that I could wear more often and that gives a subtle entry to this zone.

For me layering was the key as single pieces felt too edgy to carry. I picked up mostly metallic pieces in gold, silver and black and layered them up often to get the easy trendy look. Figure out what you are comfortable in or if you are still not confident to invest in the choker you can always try a flash tat around the neck for experiment or tie something as simple as a ribbon. Explore the options ladies!!

  2. Hey,
The longer pieces I am wearing are from Zara, the pieces that are more round the neck are from Forever21. 🙂 🙂
