2018 so far and Goals ahead..

Hey Guys, Welcome Back!

Today I am in a bit of a chatty mood so, you might wanna grab a cup of tea before you sit down for this one. I hope your 2018 has been great so far and you are on the path to accomplishing your goals and having a lot of fun in the process.  Me on the other hand, not so much 😦 . My year so far has been a bit of rushed and a lot of unhealthy. It feels like yesterday when I was celebrating my birthday last year and suddenly we are down three months into 2018.

Well, let me start off by doing a quick recap of my year so far.

  • Hectic.
  • Tiring.
  • Chaotic.
  • Frustrating at times.
  • Unhealthy.
  • Fever. Twice.
  • Muscle Cramps that made me do multiple Hospital Rounds.
  • A solo trip to Pondicherry for 2 days.
  • A days trip to Kolkata for work.
  • A lot of Netflix and Prime Video before sleeping.
  • Office. 10:00 AM to 08:00 PM. 7 days a Week. 😦
  • No time to focus on my Goals and my Blog and myself.
  • I just did 6 Blogs in 3 months.

Now, that we have caught up on the time spent by and done with all the cribbing and cursing; let me share my plans for 2018 cause I am not giving up on them yet. Here are the 5 areas that I wanna focus on henceforth. And I thought it would be a good idea to share it with you all, as at some point or other we all need a little nudge to push us through the hard times. So here we go.

Bullet Journaling

I got to know about Bullet Journaling through a Video by Claire Marshall sometime last year. And since then I have been doing a lot of journaling and planning. Nothing too fancy just a simple dated diary in which I pour out whatever I have to do, whatever I want to do in a coming few weeks to make sure everything is under control. And it ranges from stuff like official meetings and trips to buying groceries or getting my AC serviced. I feel when all the nitty-gritty details (or things to do) are out of your mind and on the paper, the mind is free to do what it really should be focusing on. All of this has really helped me get through last 3 months and I am so grateful that I started this. Which brings me to the second point.

Blogging

Although I haven’t been blogging much, you can tell that by the list that I have shared with you but every time I write a blog I feel so satisfied and content. Blogging to me is pure joy! Penning down my thoughts and creating something that brings me happiness, is a real stress buster and gives me the excitement to do more. The idea of this blog came to me sitting in a flight to Kolkata and I was so excited to get on my laptop and write it all down ( I am soon gonna be writing a blog on Kolkata as well). I feel that time spent on Airports or Flights is really good time to think and write, as you are all by yourself and there is nothing to distract you. So like blogging is to me, there might be something to you that makes you happy in the process and gives you satisfaction.

Spending time with Myself

I am personally a very friendly, party kinda person. But lately, I have been trying to spend a lot of time with myself and sort out a few things that I have been wanting to for a long time now. As my office takes a lot of my energetic, productive time; I try and spend the rest of it with myself at my home, doing the things that I really enjoy doing. Sometimes I plan for the week ahead, sometimes I just give myself a pedicure at home, sometimes being grateful for what I have and sometimes just doing nothing and enjoying the feeling of stillness! I think I am going to do a lot more of this instead of partying out or going to events, at least for the coming few months till I find my center and be happy with life in general.

Health

I have never ever been bothered about my health; thankfully, I have been blessed with a healthy body! But lately, I have realized that if I want to continue reaping the benefits of my health I need to start paying more attention to it. I have moved back to being vegetarian or rather eggetarian (for now) and I’m trying to add healthy food to my diet in easy transitions. I have mentioned some of the things that I have tried so far in my Jan and Feb Faves blog. All I want to do now is find out some form of physical exercise that I can enjoy and incorporate into my schedule easily. Maybe yoga is in cards soon.

Reading

I love reading books, especially biographies and self-help kinds. I feel books give you the daily dose of motivation, inspiration and even at times ideas to achieve what you want. I used to be an avid reader. But for the last few months, I have done more binge-watching on Prime Video and Netflix than ever before, leaving me no time for reading. Although I have watched so many interesting movies and series, I really feel the need to go back into the habit of reading daily. Maybe getting out of the house early morning sitting on a park bench to read for sometime will give me that much needed inspiration and get some healthy fresh air in the process too 😉

And that’s it. Those are my 5 focus areas for this year. Needless to say, I want to travel more and more, make some great friends, have a lot of memorable evenings and even more grateful mornings, do some adventure sports and live life as I have never lived before. I hope some of this helps you too and I would also like to know what are your plans for 2018 see you in the next one.
