I have always been fascinated by Skincare, Healthcare and especially if it’s natural/ ayurvedic. Recently, when Kama Ayurveda launched their #NewKamaToLove Campaign on Instagram, the products started popping up a lot and as you can see I couldn’t resist the temptation for long. But, since the brand is not every day, drugstore category (needless to say its kind of on the expensive lines) I thought to try out samples that clicked before totally committing to the products.
The ancient science of Ayurveda remains acutely relevant in the modern world due to its principles of harmony, purity, simplicity and true focus on physical, emotional and spiritual health. Incorporating Ayurvedic principles into everyday life is a simple exercise of making small changes that all add up to a happier and healthier you. Kama Ayurveda was started in 2002 in India, to promote the message of authentic Ayurveda, universally. Since then, creating pure Ayurvedic products according to authentic prescriptions has been the unique purpose of the brand.
Well, obviously what caught my eye were the things I was kind of looking for depending on how my skin has been behaving/ misbehaving recently. So, first in my cart were the Organic Neem Oil and Nalpamaradi Thailam. Neem Oil instantly caught my eye cause my mom and her mom have always been a big fan of anything Neem. Rich in antioxidants, Neem Oil has been used for centuries for treating both skin and hair disorders. Its antibacterial action treats skin issues such as acne, rashes, hyper-pigmentation, burns, and abrasions while protecting and moisturizing at the same time. It clarifies the hair and scalp to relieve dandruff, environmental damage and stimulates hair follicles for improved hair volume and growth.
The Nalpamaradi Thailam reserved its spot cause of another ingredient that is used in households for skin/ health benefits, Haldi. It is so very potent that it literally leaves a yellow layer on your skin even after a good massage so be a bit careful while using this bad body.
Next up I landed on this Kumkumadi Scrub and well what can I say, I have found the best face scrub eva! It feels so very luxurious and moisturizing on the skin while doing the scrubbing at the same time. It’s creamy, non-sticky and you can feel the finely ground Walnuts and Almonds doing their thing. The main ingredient Kumkumadi Oil is called a beauty fluid, created from 12 precious and rare ingredients to help illuminate the complexion, smooth fine lines and other signs of aging while and promoting new cell growth.
As you can see I also got the Body Butter, Night Cream and Foot Cream but I haven’t yet tried anyone of those so can’t say anything about it. Although, judging by how satisfied I am with the rest of the stuff I am pretty sure that these are gonna be a steal too.
Finally, the Rose and Jasmine Face Care Box. I bought these full-sized Versions as I had a trip coming up and I wanted a Toner and Cleanser, so I thought why not give this box a go. The Cleanser literally smells of fresh roses in hands (well, so far the only product that smells good in the range). I used the cleanser while I was traveling to Pondicherry and I didn’t feel the need of a Scrub or a double cleanse. It does a great job and doesn’t even leave the skin feeling dry or itchy. The Rose Water comes in a Spray bottle which was great cause I doubled it up as a face mist throughout the day when traveling to feel fresh and give an instant pick me up to the skin.
And along with any purchase, they also send you a few sample cards to take a look at the rest of the Products and see what’s best suited for your skin and hair.
Well, I definitely enjoyed all the products I have tried so far from the brand and it is definitely along the lines of being a cult brand for me like BodyShop and Oriflame. I love the fact that the brand releases samples on their site to try out and see what works best for you before full commitment. I get a lil off with the Ayurvedic smell at times but then what the heck! If the product is doing what it claims to be doing, I am happy to make up for a good scent through other mediums 😛 😉 .
See you soon Peeps
