Many of you reading this might not know that I like to paint. It started as a hobby back in school when I did a cloth painting workshop for 15 days during summer breaks and proudly produced the painting below along with some other knick-knacks and totally forgot about painting afterward.
Then in college, while working in the Cultural Committee I got to play around with colors and my creativity again. Back then it used to be mostly watercolors and markers for slogans and some abstract art! Somehow, I started creating these girl portraits mostly by taking inspiration from some news articles or magazines. I had this silly “S” in some of my paintings back then (which by the way were just on A4 sheets cause I had no understanding of art on paper and the essentials needed).
After hitting a long pause after joining Infosys, I got into the mood of wall art. And shortly after (producing exactly 3 wall arts, 2 below and one featured) I gave up. Btw, wall art is the most difficult art form that I have ever practiced not because its more intricate or more time consuming but simply cause it’s damn tiring physically on your body. Standing in front of the wall, turning in weird directions and shapes to get that one curve right, phew!! Kudos to whoever does it.
Next was the combination of paintings & photography and it really impressed me but again just for a short while. I also dabbled a bit with some other forms that I liked whenever I found some time to do a bit of research.
Finally, came my mixed media stage and oh and I am still not over it. Will share my artwork and some tips that I learned while practicing on my own and making errors in the process in another blog soon. Stay tuned…
