Feed the Mind

Just as our body needs good food to stay healthy, so does the mind needs food to stay fit. Our emotional health and physical well being are so much dependent on the state of our mind. The quotes in this blog are taken from multiple books that I have read over the last few months. I have listed down a few lines that I felt were a real pick me up. These are food for your mind. You can save the ones that really speak to you as positive affirmations, and read them at times you feel a little low and in the need of some push. You can also note them down on sticky notes and put them on your mirror or your workplace or your fridge so you see them regularly and feel more confident, energetic and motivated to do what you want to do. Also, some of these are just reminders for doing the right things at the right time πŸ˜‰ . So here we go.

Life can only be understood backwards, but it must be lived forwards.

Accountability breeds response-ability.

Knowledge is a treasure, but practice is the key to it.

Begin with the end in mind.

If you have knowledge, let other’s light their candles at it.

What will change you most in 5 years, will be the people you meet and the books you read.

Laugh your cares away. πŸ˜€

You may be disappointed if you fail but you are doomed if you don’t try.

The most wasted day of allis that on which we have not laughed.

Knowledge is piling up facts, wisdom is simplifying it.

Never use the word promise unless you are totally prepared to pay whatever the price is to keep it.

How many people on their deathbeds wish they’d spent more time at the office?

Happiness, like unhappiness, is a proactive choice. πŸ™‚

Our behavior is a function of our decisions, not our conditions.

There are three constants in life: Change, Choice, and Principles.
Habit is the intersection of knowledge (what to do), skill (how to do), and desire (want to do).

You have to decide what your highest priorities are and have the courage – pleasantly, smilingly, unapologetically – to say “no” to other things. And the way you do that is by having a bigger “yes” burning inside.

Our most important financial asset is our own capacity to earn.

I am not a product of circumstances. I am a product of my decisions.

If the ladder is not leaning against the right wall, every step we take just gets us to the wrong place faster.

To change ourselves effectively, we first have to change our perceptions.

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.

Things which matter most must never be at the mercy of things which matter least.

Success and Happiness go hand in hand. Success is getting what you want and Happiness is wanting what you get.

Give to the world the best you have and the best will come back to you.
