My Painting Journey – Part II

Yes, painting journey! I remember that so many of you were pleasantly surprised when I suddenly dropped my first post on My Painting Journey and showed you how my paintings have grown with me since my school time. From watercolors to wall paintings and then exploring Mixed Media arts using different styles and also adding photography to the mix.

I have experimented a lot when it comes to painting (well a lot in the occasional times that I paint) and have finally come to like textured paintings a lot. Although I am still pretty bad at it and I haven’t painted in a long time, but yeah whenever I get back at it again it would be textured painting. Figuring out how to prevent cracks, experiment with the different textured mediums and creating more beautiful paintings.

I never think what I am going to paint before (even if I try to nothing comes to my mind) I just sit down and get in the zone of painting. And each of these paintings is a days work unless there are layers of paint going on that needs to be dried up. The best part I have realized in the process of painting for me is creating the abstract backgrounds and patterns message that has to be conveyed.

Also, the interesting thing is that I use several different tools lying around me while creating these paintings and paintbrush is the least used item. I move anywhere from a cardboard box, scale, spoon, bubble wraps, my little fingers to even lace and threads to get the texture and the look that I envision at the moment (you might be able to figure out some of those in these paintings now 😉 ).

There has been a long break since I last painted but now that I have settled in the new city and am slowly finding my feet, I might actually create something new soon and this time when I do I will try to take you with me through the whole simple and fun process of my paintings.

See you soon guys
XOXO
