GoodBye 2016…

Hello beautiful people, so the last day of 2016 is here (soak it in people, soak it in,  cause its slipping by the second 🙂 🙂 ).

If I were to pull out the book on my life and turn to the pages of 2016, it would be a hell of a ride. There were many ups and downs, I had to make some very drastic life changing decisions throughout this year which I am hoping turn out to be for good. But that’s literally what we all do everyday right, figure life out one day at a time and try to make decisions to be the best possible version of ourselves and to make the most of everything that comes our way.

My year had a wonderful start, I was lucky enough to celebrate the new year with all my crazy, lovely friends and a wonderful trip to Hampi.

I did 2 fashion shows which both were super fun, met some lovely, creative people and had an amazing experience walking down the ramp again.

I successfully did a Feb-Photo Challenge where I took one pic every single day in Feb and I totally enjoyed the whole process. I also managed to do 48 hours of Digital Detox, which was very challenging but at the same time very enriching experience.

My birthday month was super amazing. I did Karaoke for the first time in my life and I think I managed to do it pretty well(or so my friends say 😛 ) And it was my in my bucket list for quiet some time, so that’s finally striked off 😀 😀 .

I also went to NH7 Weekender for the first time, cause it was in Hyderabad this time 😛 .

Now if I am really honest, 2016 was also one of the hardest years. Between the highs, there were a lot of lows. I questioned my abilities to simply be an adult & trying to do the right things for myself. I quit my IT job, which was one of the many hardest decisions this year.  I didn’t really focus on myself as much as I could have or I should have. After months of planning, trying to do right by everyone and myself and of course with the help of great people in my life, I think the awards will be worth it.

I try to end every year, looking forward to the possibilities of next. Travel more, experience new things, meet new and great people and be my best self. I have a lot I want to accomplish in the next years and I hope you join me in the journey ahead. So, its time to close the chapter on 2016 and start writing a new one.

My Creative Pursuits!!

This past weekend I was sitting in the balcony sipping my tea as usual and thinking about my life’s journey over the years, school, college, Infosys, Oracle; I realized that over the period of time many people taught me many things, from textbooks in school, to course material in college; from personal values at home to professional etiquette’s at work. “Embroidered Beauty”

Hi guys, I am back with a very very different look this time with Liberent in a classy, sexy, elegant & chic Lehenga. There are so many weddings & parties happening all the year round in our circles. Mehendi, Haldi, Sangeet, Parties, Fashion weeks,  etc. etc. Most of the times we practically get away with the easy picks (western wear, suits and sarees) but some occasions demand a really elaborate couture and styling.

With so many functions coming up every now and then to attend in our busy lives, there is hardly time to be spent on getting the right Lehenga custom made from scratch and then patiently wait for it to be delivered. Neither would you want to spend your hard earned money to buy outfits that we hardly ever wear after the very occasion we buy them for. Renting is coming to rescue us from all those problems.

They have so many options to choose from, custom fit outfits as per your measurements, free home delivery and pick up, Liberent has made renting so much more easy and fun. And you can rock beautiful, gorgeous outfits on every occasion without ever worrying about your pocket. I got this beautiful gold & silver embroidered lehenga in this eye popping velvet blue and I fell so in love with it. As the lehenga was so bold and edgy I wanted to keep it simple with the top. So I added on a lace embroidered black top to get all focus to the shining beauty.  I kept the whole look very simple, with a braid and black heels.

I loved how the whole look turned out with this gorgeous attire. Thanking you so much Liberent for having this wonderful piece in your stash which is no less than Haute Couture. (And they were too sweet to send a back up dress too :* :* )

Khalil Gibran’s The Prophet

Khalil Gibran, the Arab writer who not only is deemed as the most liberating force in Arabic literature but also one of the most widely read authors in English. The Prophet is deemed to be his masterpiece and it is one of the most highly regarded poems of modern times. Born in the North of Lebanon on 6 January 1883 Gibran was scared when his book was published in 1923 as he had an opinion that “People are hungry for beauty, not for truth”.  The “strange little book” as he called it sold all 1,300 copies of its first edition in the first month of publication and went on to outsell all others in the 20th century except Bible.

The Prophet is a book of 26 prose poetry fables closely interwined with his own life and thoughts. Almustafa, has lived in the foreign city of Orphalese for 12 years and is about to board a ship which will carry him home. He is stopped by a group of people, with whom he discusses topics such as life and the human condition. The book is divided into chapters dealing with variety of topics like love, marriage, work, joy and sorrow, pain, friendship, talking, beauty, religion, and death. I wanted to share a few of his quotes that I loved a lot while reading the book.

“For even as love crowns you so shall he crucify you.
Even as he is for your growth so is he for your pruning.”

“You give but little when you give of your possessions.
It is when you give of yourself that you truly give.”

“Work is love made visible.”

“Your reason and your passion are the rudder and the sails of your sea fearing soul.”

“Much of your pain is self-chosen.
It is bitter potion by which the physician within you heals your sick self.”

“You talk when you cease to be at peace with your thoughts.”

“Yesterday is today’s memory and tomorrow is today’s dream.”

“Your daily life is your temple and your religion.
Whenever you enter into it take with you your all.”

“Man’s need change, but not his love, nor his desire that his love should satisfy his  desire that his love should satisfy his needs.”

“Oftentimes you think & speak of night as the season of rest,
yet in truth night is the season of seeking & finding.”

I am hoping these quotes would have given you enough food for thought and made you wanna read more. Have a lovely & kick ass September people.
