February Beauty Faves..

Hello Everybody, I hope you all  had a great start to the month and also a very happy and colourful Holi. So am back this month with some amazing beauty products that I got to try out last month, which for once I have a lot. As many of you would know, last month was a lot of travel to different places, weddings, parties etc. So all these products have been through extreme tests in different weather conditions and they did all and more I expected them too. So, I hope you will like them as well.

July Favorites!!

Hey All, July was a very busy but beautiful month for me. I tried to create a variety of content on the blog and I was hoping to do a few more blogs since my last one but got caught up with some things and couldn’t make it. Anyways, I will try and stick to that coming month as well and there is going to be more of travel too as I love traveling around in monsoon (yes, I am a typical Pluviophile 😀 😀 ).

So, the beauty favorites this month are quite few. I mentioned in my June Favorites that I loved the app Smytten and the Love And Joy Perfume by All Good Scents that I got in my first trial. I placed order for the full bottle and I have been wearing it all this month. I have never been a fan of floral scents, but this perfume is just leaving me spell bound. The amazing fruity, flowery and fresh fragrance is so distinctive that you just can’t resist it. The perfume is not too strong but it is not mild either. It’s at that perfect level where you wouldn’t be able to ignore it but it would still not be over powering. And the bottle is soo cute! 😛

Next up are these pretty shades of liquid lipsticks from Chambor. The color range in this new launch of Extreme wear Transferproof lipsticks is really great. The stain is very pigmented and creamy and it doesn’t dry out lips like other liquid lipsticks. The one’s I got are number 431 & 484.

And a quick final mention to the White matte nails that I have been wearing all through this month and still can’t get enough. I think Colorbar Exclusive 37 was the perfect white, it didn’t stain or chip off easy and also didn’t make me ghost like (if you know what I mean!!). And the Colorbar Insanely Matte Top Coat was the cherry on top.

Ok moving on. I read 2 books this month. The first one was “Love, Loss, and What We Ate: A Memoir by Padma Lakshmi“. Some of you might know her as a famous model or a TV host or an ex-wife to a famous writer but once you are through with the book you will know her for what she truly is. Nonetheless, the journey of her life is very beautifully written here and is definitely going to strike some chords of your memories or soul.

Another book that I gave a shot to was “Jim Rohn’s The Key To Success“. There is nothing special or new or life-changing in the book. Same old mantras written down in just different words, of which only a few stood out like:

“Work harder on yourself then on your job.”
“Treat your body like a temple.”
“Design Life.”

The only movie that I  enjoyed was “Sultan“. Salman, his dance, the songs, Anushka & ofcourse Randeep Hooda everyone is good to watch!! Apart from the movie I have been hooked on “Homeland” this moth. Loved the power packed character of CIA Operative Carrie, sane yet insane or was it the other way around. Though Season 4 & 5 kind of dipped down cause of a lead character missing(no spoilers) nonetheless the series would be a good watch for anyone who enjoys series with Politics or Power Plays.

And the final mention to the favorites of this month is this new site that I stumbled upon one day, “Skillshare“. There are many websites out there to teach you Technical skills or course books stuff, but this one is by far the best if you want to learn new Creative Skills or even hone your existing skills. There are courses on this site from Crafts to Business and in lean, short easy to comprehend videos. I find listening to these even better than the Podcasts.

As always keep sharing your lovely comments & emails guys and I will see soon in a Travel/Lookbook blog…

June Favorites!!

Hi All!! It’s time for another monthly favorites blog. I started doing monthly favorites series last month (“May Favorites!!”) and enjoyed compiling down the whole list so here I am with another one in the row. Thank you for the beautiful feedback mails and messages that you guys sent over, I loved reading them and was happy to hear that you also enjoyed some of those favorites.

First off, many of you dropped me messages & mails enquiring about the Oils Of Life Intensely Revitalizing Facial Oil that I mentioned last month, if it is a gimmick or does it really work? Well it did really help improve my skin last month. I understand that it is priced on the higher side, so many of you have your hesitations about giving it a go but I would say it is worth the price. I have used it religiously every night last month and I can safely say that it’s going to last me another 3-4 months if not more.

DSC_0014-7 Moving on to June, I don’t have a ton of makeup favorites this month since it was either sweltering or pouring all through the month here so I practically lived in skincare, sunscreen, always some Kajal. The first thing that I want to mention is the Oxy Deep Face Wash with Activated Charcoal. I loooove this facewash. This is my third tube and I don’t think I am going to switch to anything else anytime soon. This one cleans your face of all the dust, dirt, oil, sebum and leaves it fresh and bright like new. It is enriched in menthol so it also leaves a cooling sensation. It is designed for men but I adore this product and anyone with Oily Skin must give it a go.

Ma Earth Botanicals Lavender Scrub is the first scrub that I have tried in powder form. Apart from the fact that it is made with Oats, Milk and other natural ingredients; the thing that I really like is you can mix it water, milk or rose water depending on what your skin needs and use accordingly. Plus since it is all natural it leaves your skin glowing and hydrated.

Sunscreens have never been part of my skincare routine but recently I have tried to be a bit more religious about using  them. The sunscreen that I experimented with this month include Lotus Herbals Safe Sun, Lakme 9 to 5 Mattifying Super Sunscreen & Sara Herbals Photoderm. Now I picked two of these as they came in a spray form and hence are easy in application throughout the day (no more excuses!! 😛 😛 ). All three of them do a very decent job but my personal favorite would be Lakme 9 to 5 as it doesn’t leave my skin feeling oily or sticky, it is mattifying so that’s a bonus plus it doesn’t smell like typical sunscreens.

Eye pencil is the one thing I probably always use and this month my goto have been Faces Long Wear Eye Pencils in Black Sparkle and Navy Blue. They are highly pigmented and very long lasting you might need a good makeup remover at the end of the day to take these colors off your eyelids.

For the lips I have been grabbing onto Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm. The pigmentation of these colors is decent and you can build up if you like more coverage and they have a minty fresh scent. There is a very mild tingling sensation on the lips cause of the mint.The-COnjuring-2-Poster

Moving onto movies & series, if you are up for some horror you must go and watch The Conjuring 2, incredibly strong performance by Vera Farmiga. I have never been much fan of sequels but this was incredible and yes I did scream aloud on a scene and I don’t easily get scared!!

Udta Punjab portrays a picture of the state that has never been seen before in any flick. I wasn’t expecting much out of this movie but what a performance by Alia Bhatt & Shahid Kapoor, just amazing. Finally a good movie for Kareena as well (thank God she didn’t over act this time). A power packed movie  with a fresh story, must watch.

Ok, Game Of Thrones. I couldn’t end this blog without mentioning it. Every Monday morning of last month was spent swooning over how amazing this series is getting. And OMG the last episode raised hell. I wish the next season could come any sooner but hopefully by then I will find solace in reading the book series. (Things I do for love!! 😀 😀 😀 )

Moving on to Apps, the new one on my phone is Smytten. It is a simple to use app with the idea that you can try out sample sizes of products before you actually buy them.  The trial products don’t cost you anything and you can order 3 trial products at a time. In my first trial I got 2 body scrubs that I didn’t enjoy much but what I loved and reordered a full size of was this Love & Joy perfume from All Good Scents. You might also enjoy discovering through this app.

That’s all for now, let me know what you’re freaking over. 🙂 😉
